Generally speaking, James Court is a conveniently located, quiet, peaceful community. Free coffee in the lobby is and always has been one of the nicest perks of this community. However, the "business center" was removed from James Court in order to construct the new package room. Given this, it would be nice if access to the business center in Harrison Court was expanded to 24 hours again. Additionally, pets have never been allowed in the courtyard. The courtyard was always intended to be a... quite, serene space for humans only, free of pet waste. There are plenty of parks nearby that allow pets as well as the dedicated space outside the backdoor of Harrison Court. Unfortunately, there are quite a few residents who ignore this rule. It would be great if Greystar could address this issue with dog owners as well as maybe post new, more conspicuous signage than the existing signage at the two entrances from the city sidewalks.

Apartments here are very nice! Spacious, modern, high ceilings (top floor), nice gym, very quiet, good front desk service! Can't beat location if you're working at Boston Medical Center!

First- I want to start of by saying if I were to review the support staff, I would give a 10/5 (front desk and maintenance specifically).
Now- let’s review the property (can we give a 0/5?)
We only signed with this property because the leasing staff specifically stated that the management company “works” with their tenants and that the rent is always negotiable. We found this to be completely inaccurate. For example, when it was time to negotiate our lease change, this flexibility was nowhere... to be found. Despite, the 5% decline in rental rate in the specific neighborhood.
Second, don’t be fooled by the amenities. They are only available when the leasing staff is in the office. Spoiler alert it’s from 10am-4pm EST (not Covid related). The new management changed every lock so that no other employee had access to the buildings.
Speaking of new management- it is terrible. They forced/are forcing the support staff out that keeps the building running and that the tenants love. Also- don’t expect to receive one smile from any management once you sign your lease…. It’s a show.
Final straw for us was “the parking garage cleaning”. The parking garage that we paid $275/car/month (for two cars) was going through a “cleaning”. JHCH notified us 3 days prior to the cleaning, which took place mid week. They told us to move our cars for an entire day without a place to park or a stipend to park. Please note that this is in the South End and there is limited - to- no parking during the week (also not sure what the “cleaning” actually was).
Either way- there are plenty of places near by that we wish we would have signed with instead of here. GOOD LUCK!

Don't bother even looking here. I'm a current tenant, but won't be after my lease is up. For the amount they charge for rent, you can find much more for your money. Harrison Court was recently acquired by a larger company and they're not treating their staff well, which is exemplified by the number of staff that have quit in the past 6 months. There's now only one maintenance guy (who's quite good), but unable to keep up with all the work that's required. As for the concierge, they only... staff the front desk part time, which is a tremendous hassle when you want to get your package that's locked up in storage. The only way to get your package is to walk over to James court and pull away their concierge, leaving his desk unmanned for his tenants. The gym is poorly maintained with a mix of good equipment beside outdated and often broken equipment. I could go on, but trust me when I say, find somewhere else.

I've lived here several years and I have to say it is a great place to live. The property managers are present and available when you need them. The apartments aren't too small and are well maintained. But the charm here is the concierge staff who, after a few years here, are really like friends to me. Seeing their faces when I walk in the door is just another friendly reminder that I'm home and I'm safe here. Repair staff is also pretty great and requests are handled in a timely fashion. I've... lived all over Boston, but the South End is truly my favorite neighborhood. It just feels like home and the summer is full of outdoor community fun to bring everyone together! If you want to live in the South End, you won't be disappointed if you choose James Court.
